Hazardous substance course content
The course is delivered over 6 hours face to face. We are flexible and will work with your school to customise a time that will best suit your school.
The course will discuss:
- Relevant legislation
- How to interpret a safety data sheet
- Container labels and how to read them
- Classification and properties of dangerous goods
- Storage and segregation of chemicals
- Risk assessment and hierarchy of control
- Spill response
Participants will have the opportunity to view practical demonstrations that examine the properties and potential hazards of chemicals used in school laboratories.
Due to the practical nature of the course class sizes are limited to 16, this enables the facilitators to interact with individuals to confirm understanding of the course content. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to find out more about the hazardous substance training course.
